Information we collect

We collect information you provide or allow the app to access so we can operate the service:

• Account information, such as your name, profile photo, and sign-in details from Apple, Google, or email sign-in through Clerk.
• Profile and friendship information you create in the app, including friend groups and invitations.
• Hangout details, such as title, time, a location you enter or search for, invitees, attendance responses, and related text chat messages. We do not collect device-derived precise or approximate location.
• Messages and draft hangout details you save in the AI planning assistant.
• The name, email address, or phone number from a contact you choose and then submit to find or invite a friend. On iOS, Apple's one-contact system picker does not give us access to your full address book. On Android, the app requests Contacts access before opening the contact picker.
• Photos you choose from your library for a profile photo or hangout cover. Hangout covers are normalized, stripped of embedded metadata such as EXIF/GPS, and stored privately. The current app does not upload chat images, video, or audio and does not request camera or microphone permission.
• Push notification tokens so we can send reminders and event updates.
• Basic technical information, such as device type, app version, and logs needed to keep the app reliable and secure.
• Limited product-usage analytics, such as normalized screen names, named feature actions, success or failure outcomes, and performance timing. These records use a random identifier created for each app launch and, after sign-in, a server-generated pseudonymous account identifier so aggregate usage can be measured across sessions. They do not include raw account or authentication IDs, names, contact details, hangout or chat content, planner messages, entered locations, or request and response bodies.

How we use information

We use information to create accounts, connect friends, organize groups, create and share events, support chat, send notifications, understand aggregate feature usage, improve reliability, prevent misuse, and respond to support requests. When you use the AI planner, we also use limited patterns from hangouts you hosted or joined, such as activity categories, general time preferences, group sizes, and prior location text, to personalize suggestions. We do not send invitee identities, friend lists, historical descriptions, or chat messages to the AI model.

Safety and moderation

We process reports, blocked-user relationships, relevant content snapshots, and enforcement actions to investigate abuse, remove objectionable content, prevent repeat violations, and meet our safety obligations. When a reported hangout has a cover photo, the normalized image is copied to private, immutable moderation storage. Authorized moderators receive only a short-lived read-only link for manual review. Reports are shared only with service providers and reviewers who need them to operate the moderation process.

Third-party services

My 3rd Space uses trusted service providers to operate the app. These may include Clerk for authentication, Stream for text chat, Expo for push notifications and mobile app services, Azure for private media storage, hosting, operational monitoring, and aggregate product analytics, Google Cloud for the active API and database during migration, and Google Places/Maps or Azure Maps for location-search suggestions and selected-location previews. Azure OpenAI processes planning requests without provider-hosted conversation threads; My 3rd Space stores the conversation in its own database so you can resume it. Our use of Google Maps Platform incorporates Google's Privacy Policy.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to provide the app, comply with law, protect users, or work with service providers under appropriate safeguards.

Your choices

You can control app permissions in your device settings. On iOS, choosing one contact does not require full Contacts access. On Android, you may decline Contacts access and enter an email or phone number manually or use Share Invite Link instead. You may decline photo-library or notification access; only the related optional feature will be unavailable. My 3rd Space does not request camera, microphone, or device-location permission. The AI planner is optional; when you open it, personalization from your existing hangout history is applied automatically.

Data retention

We keep active account, friendship, invitation, hangout, media, chat, and notification information while needed to provide the service. Saved AI planning conversations remain available until you delete the conversation or your account. Pending invitations remain until accepted, cancelled, or removed during applicable account cleanup. Service logs and mobile analytics expire on configured operational schedules and are retained for no more than 90 days. Encrypted backups expire on their configured schedules.

Safety reports and enforcement records are retained as needed to protect users, prevent repeated abuse, resolve disputes, and comply with law. A reported hangout image copied into production moderation evidence is immutable for at least 365 days and may be retained longer for an active investigation or legal requirement.

Account deletion

In the app, tap the profile avatar to open the Profile drawer, then choose Delete account. You can also request deletion without signing in at my-3rd.space/support or by emailing support@my-3rd.space. We verify control of the account before acting on an email request.

Deletion removes the authentication identity and active profile, friendship and group records, invitations, hosted hangouts and RSVPs, saved planning conversations, and associated chat account and content. Profile and cover images stop being available through the deleted account or hangouts; private storage copies may remain during operational cleanup or backup periods. Limited logs and encrypted backups may remain until their normal expiry. Existing safety reports, moderation actions, and preserved evidence may be retained as described above; account links are removed where applicable.

Children

My 3rd Space is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect information. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to reduce risk and respond to issues promptly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the date above.
